Pravda Rus'kaya as part of the Old Rus' legal collection
Reconstruction of ancient Rus' legal norms and regulations of the XI-XIV centuries. Ustav, headpieces and initials in teratological style. Handmade paper, 280 pages
In 2009, a three-year work was completed to recreate a handwritten copy of Pravda Rus'kaya - a set of legal norms of Ancient Rus' in the 11th century
The manuscript is written in ustav on hand-made paper. It contains the texts of Pravda Rus'kaya and other legal norms that were usually included in the Old Rus' legal collections - Meryl of the Righteous and Pilot Books
Our manuscript contains a consolidated text of the Long Edition of Pravda Rus'kaya. The handwritten text of the Trinity I list of the XIV century, which is considered the most correct of the known lists of Pravda Rus'kaya, is taken as the basis. The errors and omissions in it have been corrected; missing words and missing articles are supplemented based on the content and comparison of known lists
In addition to Pravda Rus'kaya, the handwritten collection includes other sources of Ancient Rus' law (the Judgment Law for people, the Court of Obedience, City Laws, etc.). The manuscript is decorated with miniature, capital initials and teratological headpieces, written in egg tempera in the tradition of Old Rus' handwritten books. Ancient techniques for making ink, paints, and created gold were used when creating the manuscript.
